The Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors (ICMAD) Association presented its annual FDA Cosmetics Regulations Workshop on May 17, in New York City, with record attendance.
This year’s featured speakers were former and current FDA directors Linda Katz, MD, MPH, director, Office of Cosmetics & Colors, Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), FDA and John Bailey, PhD, former director, Office of Applied Research and Safety Assessment and former director of Cosmetics and Colors, Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), FDA.
The all-day meeting provided a mix of presentations and panel discussions led by expert speakers focused on the latest information on topics essential to running a safe, successful business in the cosmetic and personal care industry. Topics included: updates on US FDA activities, a discussion of OTC drug regulations and sunscreen, FDA warning letters and consumer class actions, FTC, NAD, advertising claims and testing and how to protect your business.
