The Personal Care Product Council's annual Science Symposium will be held virtually October 26 & 27, 2021. The Symposium attracts more than 300 industry leaders and decision-makers. The robust program offers a chance to learn, network and engage with colleagues and speakers on game-changing insights concerning microbiology, quality assurance, safety and the environment, according to PCPC.
Open to both PCPC members and non-members, the 2021 Virtual Science Symposium is a unique opportunity to learn from the experts and connect with colleagues and friends in the industry. Click here to register.
Featured Speaker: Dr. Elisabet Berggren, deputy head, chemical safety & alternative methods unit, Joint Research Centre (JRC), European Commission
There is an ongoing paradigm shift in human health risk assessment away from animal testing toward the use of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) to assess safety. This trend is of particular importance for cosmetics, which are the subject of animal testing bans in multiple locations throughout the world. Regulatory acceptance is an important aspect of this shift. Dr. Elisabet Berggren will speak on regulatory acceptance of NAMs, including in the EU and various international initiatives.
Dr. Berggren is a passionate believer in new and better science to underpin a safe use of chemicals as well as faster progress in biomedical research. She joined the European Commission in 1996, primarily responsible for activities related to hazard assessment and classification and labeling of chemicals. In 2009, her work shifted to systemic toxicology and alternative methods to animal testing.
The continuing COVID-19 pandemic may have interrupted PCPC's traditional face-to-face Expo, but we have developed a robust platform that gives exhibitors enhanced opportunities to share information and engage with attendees. According to PCPC, the Symposium provides the simplicity of an online event while maximizing the value of your sponsorship dollars. To receive our Sponsorship Prospectus listing all opportunities, contact Catherine McDonald, mcdonaldc@personalcarecouncil.org or 202-454-0310.
